Temporary Zup’s grocery store planned for Cook

COOK, MN — Neighbors in Cook who have been without a hometown grocery store for months now have some good news – plans for a temporary grocery store are in the works.

According to the Timberjay, Matt Zupancich, the manager of Zup’s in Cook, says they’ve signed a lease for a building close to the old grocery store.

The previous building was destroyed by a fire in November, and forced community members to head to other towns to get food.

Now, a temporary store with limited options is planned to be operational in a few weeks.

The cause of the November fire is still under investigation.
