Duluth DFL party endorses candidates for local government seats

DULUTH, MN– The Duluth DFL party held its endorsement convention for candidates running for local government seats.

Those include city council, school board, and the top seat, Duluth Mayor.

According to the city of Duluth DFL Twitter Page, many endorsements were made giving some candidates the backing of the DFL party.

According to the page, for Duluth City council’s At-Large seats it was between Mike Mayou, Noah Hobbs, Arik Forsman.

Mayou received the first endorsement with 151 votes. For the second At-Large seat, incumbent Hobbs and Forsman were neck-and-neck and both decide to withdraw from consideration.

For School Board At-Large, it was a close race between incumbent Alanna Oswald and John Schwetman. The end result was no endorsement for the spot.

And for Mayor, incumbent Emily Larson won the endorsement by voice acclimation.

Janet Kennedy received the endorsement for City Council District 5 on the first ballot with Over 70% of the vote against Ashley Grimm.
