Community invited to help dedicate dog park to K9 Haas

DULUTH, MN– The Duluth Police Department is inviting the community to join them at a dedication event Thursday honoring the life of K9 Haas.

Thursday afternoon, the Gary New Duluth Recreation Center will officially rename its dog park “The K9 Haas Memorial Dog Park.”

Haas was killed during an officer-involved shooting in Duluth in January.

“The K9 Haas Memorial Dog Park is a standing reminder to us of how our community continues to wrap their arms around our officers in support of the difficult job they do to keep us safe every day,” the Duluth Police Department wrote on Facebook.

The dedication and celebration will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday at 801-101st Avenue West near Stowe Elementary School at the GND Recreation Center.

There will be food and games.
