Huskies bounce back against Express in home opener

DULUTH, MN – The Duluth Huskies earned an 11-5 win over the Eau Claire Express in their 2019 home opener at Wade Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

In the bottom of the first, Duluth plated three runs to jump out to an early lead. Eau Claire responded to take a 5-3 lead, which was short lived. An explosive day at the plate for Duluth led to 11 total runs.

Huskies starter Dane Morrow went six innings, allowing five runs (one earned) on seven hits, with six strikeouts. Relievers Jake McDonald and Mason Bryant shut the door from there on out, as the Huskies improved to 4-2 on the season.

Next up, the Huskies host the St. Cloud Rox at Wade Stadium on Monday, June 3 at 11:35 a.m.
