Thunder chance tonight, clearing Thursday.

Our chances of rain and some thunder goes up to a 60% shot tonight as a low pressure system moves in from the west. Best chance of rain is after midnight to around 7am Thursday. Skies are cloudy and winds are out of the SSE at 5-15mph. Low temperatures are on the mild side due to the southern flow with lows in the low to mid 40s. A few locations like Ironwood, Aitkin, Hibbing, Hayward, and Spooner will have low 50s.

High pressure builds from the north on Thursday. This helps clear us up from west to east throughout the day. Expect early morning rain showers east of Duluth then the clouds move out by the late afternoon for areas east of Ashland and Hayward. The Iron Range and Borderland will have upper 50s to mid 60s for high temperatures. Duluth will be in the upper 60s and areas to the south will have low 70s. There will be a breezy wind out of the northwest at 15-20mph.

Skies are mostly clear overnight into Friday as high pressure controls our weather from the north. Low temps are in the mid to upper 30s. The afternoon has partly cloudy skies, but temperatures are much cooler with an east wind keeping Duluth in the upper 50s on the hill and upper 40s by the lake. Expect mid 60s away from the lake in the Iron Range and down around Hayward too.

In the morning a low pressure system nears from the south. This low brings a good chance of rain, especially for areas south of the Iron Range. Chances have gone up to 70% for Duluth and around a 50% chance for the Iron Range. The heaviest rain occurs south of Highway 2. Morning lows are in the upper 30s and highs reach the mid 40s. Winds are easterly at 10-20mph.

The low moves northeast over Green Bay. This continues our gusty east wind at 15-25mph and our rain, mainly south of the Borderland. Chance of rain is 80%. Morning lows are in the upper 30s and highs reach the low 40s.

Wrap around moisture continues to bring rain to the Northland into Monday morning. Low temps are in the upper 30s. The chance of morning rain is around 40%. Then skies start to clear up a bit by the afternoon and highs reach the low 50s.
