A crash course in north shore steelhead fishing
PALMER, MN – Every spring, a species of rainbow trout known as steelhead make their run up the rivers and streams of Lake Superior’s north shore to spawn.
Anglers flock to these waters, with hopes of hooking into the elusive steelhead. KBJR 6’s Matt Halverson set out with some local steelheaders in a unique edition of Athlete of the Week.
NOTE: Fishing near the mouth of the Sucker River is prohibited without the expressed consent of the owners of the surrounding private property.
