UMAC softball season awards announced, St. Scholastica & UW-Superior honored

DULUTH,MN – The season is over for St. Scholastica and UW-Superior, but the end of the year awards were announced.

St. Scholastica senior Maggie Schley was named UMAC player of the year. The Mounds View,MN native gives CSS back to back conference player of the year awards. Alexa Bremer won last season. Schley led the conference with 26 RBIs in league play. She finished with a .412 batting average, the third highest career average in program history.

UW-Superior interim head coach Nick Bursik was named UMAC coach of the year. He took over the program late this winter and lead the Yellowjackets to a second-straight UMAC runner-up finish. The team ended with a 18-19 overall record. UW-Superior finished with a pitching staff 2.20 era.
