Bonney Bowman joined the KBJR evening team in May of 2019. She's been in the broadcast news industry for 11 years, with her career starting in Joplin, MO in 2007. Since then, she's worked in Lincoln, Nebraska; Anchorage, Alaska; and Lansing, Michigan.
Some of the biggest stories of her career include the deadly May 22, 2011 Joplin tornado and embedding with an Alaska Army brigade in Afghanistan in 2014. She's thrilled to continue her career in the Northland.
Bonney grew up just outside Chicago, watching local news with her family. That's where she caught the journalism bug. She graduated from the Missouri School of Journalism in 2007 and has enjoyed the many once-in-a-lifetime experiences this career has brought her.
Bonney loves to spend time outside, exploring hiking trails and parks. She has two dogs who share in her adventures, and two cats who prefer to stay at home. She's an animal lover who advocates for rescue groups. She also enjoys gardening and her favorite color is pink!
