Trial delayed for Darrel Mayhew case

DULUTH, MN — The trial for the man accused of killing another man on Park Point has been delayed.

Darrel Mayhew’s jury trial was supposed to start Tuesday, but has now been moved to next month.

According to the Saint Louis County Attorney’s Office that’s to allow a new prosecutor assigned the case time to get up to speed.

Mayhew will be representing himself.

He’s accused of entering the victim’s home on the 800 block of South Lake Avenue.

Mayhew then allegedly assaulted the 70-year-old man, and stole some money, a cell phone, and a tablet.

His trial is now scheduled for next month.
