SUPERIOR, WI — The Superior Police and Superior Fire Department had a joint mass casualty incident training Tuesday.
It took place at Wessman Arena in Superior, and included the Mayo Clinic Ambulance and Northern EMS Specialists.
It was a skills-based training and included full blown scenario exercises.
The Superior Fire Department says training for these kinds of situations is important for the team to understand how they will act in an event like this.
Howard Huber, Battalion Chief says, “We feel that it is our responsibility to be prepared for an incident like this, if it happens in Superior. We want the community to know that we’re ready, we’ve practiced, we’re hoping that we never have to respond to an incident like this, but if we do, we’re doing everything we can to prepare for that.”
The Superior Fire Department and Police Department makes an effort to have these kinds of training’s annually.
