MADISON (WKOW) – In its first state appearance, Martin Luther High School raced out to a quick lead over Northwestern and never looked back for a 96-61 WIAA Division 3 semifinal win at the Kohl Center Thursday in Madison.
Northwestern had its hands full all afternoon, trying to contain Martin Luther’s Trequan Carrington, who finished with a game-high 41 points.
Ace Evans added 21 for Martin Luther.
Brody Payton was the lead scorer for Northwestern with 19.
Martin Luther shot 57 percent on 40 for 69 shooting for the game.
Martin Luther held a 46-31 halftime lead, on 22 points from Carrington.
Evans had 10 points and Xzavior Jones added 7 for Martin Luther.
Payton led Northwestern with 10 first-half points.
Martin Luther shot 62.5 percent from the field in the first half, despite Northwestern shooting 50 percent.
