Graff brothers look to polish unfinished business at state tournament

MAPLE, WI – In 2009, Nolan Graff and the Northwestern boys basketball team endured a first round exit from the WIAA state boys basketball tournament.

They returned to Madison in 2010, escaping the first round and brought home the runner-up silver ball. The Tigers have not been able to get back to state until this season, after their overtime win against Wisconsin Dells in the sectional finals.

Nolan is now Northwestern’s head coach, leading his younger brother Jenner to state, nine years later.

Tonight, KBJR 6’s Matt Halverson will report from Maple, Wisconsin as the Tigers prepare for their fourth trip to the Kohl Center in 15 years.

The Tigers, who are 21-5, play at 1:30 p.m. Thursday against Martin Luther (23-3).

You can catch the game on My9, or on the Magic of March app.
