TODAY/TONIGHT: Today we will have high pressure in place to bring mostly sunny skies to the region. Temperatures will start out cold, below zero, this morning but we will quickly climb into the teens and lower 20’s for highs! Winds will be mostly calm today, but a little out of the southwest this afternoon 4-8mph.
Tonight we will see increasing clouds to become partly clear. Lows will fall into the single digits, but should remain above zero for most areas. A few spots will dip below zero tonight though.
FRIDAY: Friday we will continue to see increasing clouds to become mostly cloudy by the end of the day. Highs will be in the upper 20’s with southwest winds 5-10mph.
WEEKEND: The big story will be the winter storm this weekend. Models have come into much better agreement on the system, and they’ve backed off totals a little bit. The snow will begin to move into the Northland Saturday afternoon, sometime after 2pm. The snow will continue through Sunday morning, then diminish from west to east in the afternoon. Accumulations look to be between 3-7” across the Northland. The Twin Cities could see 6-10” of snow though, so keep that in mind when planning to travel this weekend. Roads will be rough Saturday afternoon through Sunday down there.
NEXT WEEK: We will continue to see mild temperatures next week. Monday we will have sunshine and upper 20’s. But into Tuesday and Wednesday we will see some 30’s for highs! We are tracking another system for Wednesday. Looks to be messy with the warmer temperatures, so some rain and snow will be possible. Stay tuned.
