COOK, MN — Zup’s Food Market in Cook is another step closer to its big rebuild after a fire destroyed the area’s only grocery store in November.
Friday, the Iron Range Resources and Rehabilitation Board approved a $350,000 grant the city of Cook had requested for development infrastructure related to the rebuild.
They money will be spent on on-site water and sewer upgrades, and overall site-work.
Construction is expected to begin by March or April.
The project is expected to retain 44 permanent jobs and create 33 construction jobs.
Zup’s began serving Cook and the surrounding area in May 1998.
