DULUTH, MN–Hundreds of people came out to raise awareness for missing and murdered indigenous women Thursday afternoon.

The group marched down Superior Street in downtown Duluth, hoping to show the community that these women are not forgotten and that action needs to be taken.

This year’s march also supports new legislation to establish a task force for missing and murdered indigenous women.

“Lack of awareness is a problem,” Shawn Carr, who attended the march, said. “People don’t realize that Native women are disproportionately represented in missing and murdered women”

This was the 4th year they’ve held the march.
