SHERBURNE COUNTY, MN — Spirits are high after a Saint Bernard, who escaped from a rescue group more than two weeks ago, has been found.

The group Ruff Start Rescue had taken in a Saint Bernard named “Old Lady” from a puppy mill on January 4th, and she escaped later that day.

Search parties, signs and phone calls were sent out to find the dog, and rescue group members Julie Lessard and Azure Davis became more worried due to the extremely cold temperatures.

On Monday, a deputy with the Sherburne County Sheriff’s Office received a call about a dog tied up in the woods, and the group says the deputy called them immediately.

The two women said it sounded like the dog had been caught up in the woods on someone’s property since Friday, and was cold and shivering.

The dog is now back in the care of Ruff Search Rescue.

“Old Lady” is in rough shape, but group members are hoping she’ll be okay.

She is currently resting in warmer conditions with food and water, and is being monitored closely.

She will also be visiting a vet for further evaluation.
