TODAY/TONIGHT: Today we will see more clouds and still some cold temperatures. Expect partly sunny skies today with a slight chance of some flurries in the Arrowhead and northeast Wisconsin/U.P. region. Highs will be in the mid to lower teens today with winds out of the northwest 5-10mph.
Tonight we will see the skies clearing again as another Arctic high pressure system pushes in. Lows will fall into the teens below zero, maybe even some 20’s below along the International Border.
FRIDAY: The cold really sets in as we head into the weekend. Friday we will see highs in the single digits with mostly sunny skies. Winds will be out of the NNW 5-10mph, so the South Shore can expect chances of lake flurries and extra clouds. Friday night lows will be in the teens and 20’s below zero.
WEEKEND: This weekend we will see Arctic air sticking around. Highs on Saturday will struggle to make it above zero, in fact I think we will remain below zero in the Ports and throughout much of the region. Expect mostly sunny skies and northwest winds. More lake effect snow for the South Shore too. Sunday we will remain mostly sunny with highs in the single digits above and below zero.
NEXT WEEK: A trough in the jetstream will slide by Monday into Tuesday to bring a chance of some light snow to the region. With the cold and dry air that’s in place, accumulations will be on the lighter side, but still could see a couple inches at most in some spots. Highs will be in the mid to lower teens.
