Winds may cause smoke from elevator fire to blow into West Duluth

DULUTH, MN — The smoke from an abandoned elevator fire in Superior may blow int o West Duluth Monday night.

KBJR 6 Chief Meteorologist Adam Clark says the winds are expected to shift to a southeast flow.

Winds are currently blowing from the west and the south, causing the smoke to blow around.

Winds are expected to switch around 10 p.m.

It is unknown what is in the smoke at this time.

Clark says it is best to stay out of the smoky air, and to stay indoors if possible.
