Light snow today, but clearing tonight

TODAY/TONIGHT: A strong shortwave trough in the jetstream will help push a weak cold front into our region today. This will lead to a 40% chance of some light snow in the Ports around noon, give or take a couple hours. Accumulations will be light, less than a half inch. From the Range through the Arrowhead, folks can expect between trace to a half inch with only a slight chance of more than a half inch in some spots. Highs will be in the lower 30’s this afternoon with winds out of the southwest 5-10mph.

Tonight the skies will clear out pretty quick from west to east. Lows will fall into the teens and some lower 20’s. Winds will be out of the west 4-8mph.

FRIDAY: High pressure will roll in and keep the skies clear. Expect sunny skies and winds out of the WSW 5-15mph. There is a chance we could see some haze with a strong inversion, but with winds a bit breezier I think its less likely. Highs will be in the mid to upper 30’s!

WEEKEND: Sunny and warm weekend ahead! Highs will be able to climb to around 40° on Saturday with mostly sunny skies! Winds will be out of the SSW 5-10mph. Sunday we will see a few more clouds, but temperatures will still be in the mid to upper 30’s for highs.

NEXT WEEK: A pretty quiet stretch of weather. Highs will remain in the mid to lower 30’s into the beginning of next week. Expect mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies.
