DULUTH, MN — The Salvation Army’s annual Red Kettle and Toy Drive campaigns are full speed ahead this holiday season!
So far, the organization has received $47,000 toward a goal of $270,000.
Along with money donations, the Salvation Army also runs a Toy drive. Organizers say that with its many donor locations, the need for volunteers is high.
“Volunteers really are the wheel beneath this operation,” says Salvation Army Captain Teri Ellison. “We couldn’t do what we do without the volunteers. Throughout the Christmas season we probably have close to 1800 to 2000 volunteers help us in all aspects of the work that we do.”
People who wish to volunteer can find out how by going to the Salvation Army’s website.
