The UMD hockey teams share the ice with the public

DULUTH, MN– Members of the community had a chance to ice skate with the UMD men and women’s hockey teams Sunday.

The bulldog’s hockey teams shared the ice with the public at the annual Skate with the Bulldogs event.

Players were on the ice signing autographs and having fun with participants.

Live music, entertainment, and snacks were provided.

Attendees were required to bring their own skates.

Organizers say it’s a great way for fans to meet and interact with their favorite players.

UMD Assistant Athletic Director of Communications, Bob Nygaard says, “these are the Bulldog fans, and the players know that. And I don’t think any of them forgot that they were once this age and it really connects with them when they see these kids out here asking for autographs”

No chairs, sticks, pucks or shoes were allowed on the ice.
