Lake Superior makes a splash at Minnesota State Fair

Lake Superior is making a splash at the Minnesota State Fair this year.

The Great Lakes Aquarium in Duluth is hosting an interactive exhibit teaching fair-goers about the unique role the lake plays in climate, commerce and water resources.

You can find the Great Lakes Aquarium exhibit inside the Eco Experience Building at the fair through Labor Day.

The interactive exhibit takes you through hands-on displays, photo ops and other activities.

Aquarium workers say visitors have lots of stories about their connections with the lake and those stories in-turn can help educate.

"People are real eager to share their experience about being at the lake, vacationing at the lake, or they have a home there or lived there for a while and it gets people talking about their love of the lake and hopefully inspires them to protect their waters," Alexis Burke, Visitor Engagement Manager at the Great Lakes Aquarium said.

You can even get a Lake Superior tattoo. It’s temporary.
