The Duluth Fire Department has issued a Red Flag Warning Wednesday, advising people to stay out of the water on Park Point.
According to the Fire Department, there is a high risk for rip currents in the area, which means dangerous swimming conditions.
The warning is effective immediately and until 10 a.m. Thursday.
This warning means that wind and wave conditions can support rip currents. Rip currents are life-threatening to anyone entering the water. You’re advised to stay out of the water, regardless of your swimming experience.
There are currently no lifeguards at Park Point, and red flags are flying along the beach to indicate the dangerous swimming condition.
